Helene Schjerfbeck

Helene Schjerfbeck was a Finnish painter whose works are known for her use of light, colour and texture. She was born in Finland in 1862. Her works began to be recognised in the late 19th century, and she was awarded the title of Academician by the Finnish Art Association in 1911. Her works are now highly sought after and included in international collections.
